Meet Our Pastor

          Rev. John Boquist has been our pastor since August, 2004. Pastor John has been in full-time ministry since 1982 having served previously as a minister of music in three churches in the Tidewater area.
          In addition to his love for music, Pastor John brings a tremendous sense of humor to his ministry with us. We have found him to be a deeply caring and loving pastor. From his prayers, to his laughter, he has endeared himself to the people of our congregation.
          In 2005, Pastor John graduated with his Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, NC. He brings a keen intellect to his sermons as well as insightful applications to everyday life. Of course, everything he does is peppered with his laughter.
          Pastor John and his wife, Yvonne, have two daughters. Patricia is a senior Liberty University where she is majoring in Teaching English as a Second Language. Elizabeth is a sophomore pursuing a ministry degree at The College at Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.
          Our pastor's wife, Yvonne, is a great compliment to our pastor. She is very active in music (church pianist) and teaching Sunday School.
